EXCELLENT BRITISH MEAT…
There is absolutely no need to eat bad meat. The UK has a plentiful supply of great farmers producing a fantastic range of tasty meat and poultry. We will explain to you what makes great meat, what to look for when buying and how to ensure that you get the best out of your purchase.
It is possibly true of fresh food more than any other subject that the quality of the end product is in direct relation to the quality of the raw ingredient. Whether you choose to buy organic, farm fresh, free range, the quality of the meat is more important than the label.
Of course, quality costs, but it’s better to have a small portion of something good than a plateful of something that is not. At Carnivorous Capers we source great meat from farmers that we have known and worked with for years. We visit our farms, we talk to the farmers and we have been known to share a small beer while we waste away an afternoon talking about what makes good lamb or beef, or why one chicken tastes so much better than the other.
Having established that we can source a great product, the care and preparation of the meat is just as important as the production. We endeavour to minimise food miles, preferring to source meat close to our shop. In some cases this can be difficult so we carry out rigorous checks to ensure that the meat that we bring to you has been well maintained from the field to your own venue.
We guarantee that at the end of your gift you will have a newfound confidence to talk your local butcher with knowledge that will ensure you always get the best produce.
